The roundtable will be chaired by Professor Robert Bothwell, the Director of Trinity College/U of T's International Relations Program. Panelists will include Dr. Andrew F. Cooper, CIGI's Associate Director and Distinguished Fellow, Dr. Joseph T. Jockel, Professor and Director of Canadian Studies at St. Lawrence University, NY and Daniel Drache, Associate Director of the Robarts Centre for Canadian Studies and Professor of Political Science, York University .

Food aid has resurfaced as a hot political issue in recent years. This talk will address the new politics of food aid, looking in particular at current proposals for food aid reform, as well as the various forces that are working both for and against food aid reform.

Symposium on Financial Liberalization and Financial Structure in China in Context of China's WTO Commitments

China's WTO commitments in banking and insurance imply major changes if fully implemented by 2007 (end of WTO accession process). The Symposium aimed to better understand the Chinese banking and insurance systems, and discuss both the changes that China's WTO commitments imply as well as the implementability of the changes. The Symposium also focused on financial structure and growth performance in China.
