The Centre for International Governance Innovation has lined up a distinguished panel that will kick off our annual fall conference on global governance. Attend a discussion between former Mexico President Ernesto Zedillo and former Canada Prime Minister Paul Martin on securing the future success of the G20 through the engagement and active participation of leaders. Is the G20 “leader-friendly”? Can the G20 be successful? How is sovereignty evolving? This panel will be moderated by Chrystia Freeland, Global Editor-at-Large Thomas Reuters Digital.

Ernesto Zedillo

Ernesto Zedillo is the Director of the Yale Center for the Study of Globalization. From 1978-87 he was with the Central Bank of Mexico; He served as President of Mexico from 1994-2000.

Paul Martin

The Right Honourable Paul Martin was the twenty-first Prime Minister of Canada from 2003 to 2006 and its Minister of Finance from 1993 to 2002 and the Member of Parliament for LaSalle-Émard in Montreal, Quebec in the period 1988 to 2008.
