CIGI's Innovative Research on G-20 is Key Priority of Prime Minister Paul Martin

Waterloo, ON - The Centre for International Governance Innovation (CIGI), in partnership with the Centre for Global Studies (CFGS), is well positioned to take the leading role in researching the feasibility of Prime Minister Martin's call for a Group of 20 at the leaders' level. Prime Minister Paul Martin addressed the important issue of establishing a G-20 at the leaders' level today to scholars in Washington. As Paul Martin said in his speech "The responsibility for good international governance falls ultimately upon the shoulders of the political leaders of the world's sovereign governments".

Waterloo on the World Stage

World class Baroque concert to take place in Waterloo to acknowledge the work of international organizations.

Waterloo, ON - Three hundred local citizens will gather at the Centre for International Governance Innovation (CIGI) to support the work of CIGI, the Academic Council on the United Nations System (ACUNS) and Project Ploughshares. This event will be held on May 4, 2004 at 7.00 pm, and will feature a concert by the Baroque Festival Musicians.

Canada Can Assist the World in Meeting the Millennium Development Goals

Waterloo, ON - A comprehensive Global Governance Initiative (GGI) report is being released today by the Centre for International Governance Innovation (CIGI), in partnership with the World Economic Forum, measuring the progress made by government bodies, international organizations, businesses and civil society to achieve the Millennium Development Goals established by the United Nations at the Millennium Summit in September 2000.
