Bio

Adriane MacDonald is a PhD student at the University of Waterloo in the Social and Ecological Sustainability program. Adriane has a diverse perspective, having worked in the public, private and not-for-profit sectors, both internationally and across Canada. Locally, she worked as a Community Designer at the design and innovation firm, Machteld Faas Xander. In Edmonton, Alberta, she spent time as a business analyst at Western Economic Diversification Canada, where she represented Alberta on the department's Sustainable Development team. Adriane's international experience was in Mumbai, India, working with Education and Technology Services Limited Department of Infrastructure Leasing and Financial Services, and in Cape Town, South Africa, working for Career Planet. Adriane's research interests are in corporate social responsibility, municipal sustainability, collaborative governance and community development. In June 2012, Adriane launched her PhD research project at the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
