Strong CIGI presence at World Bank Group and International Monetary Fund Meetings

Ahead of the 2013 annual meetings of the WBG-IMF, CIGI is conducting an extensive outreach agenda of timely publications and events, on the reform of the international monetary system. From Oct. 8 to 12, CIGI will issues 13 new publications on related issues and will collaborate with leading institutions in Washington, D.C., to organize eight events for policy and thought leaders to identify opportunities for governance improvements.

CIGI appoints Robert I. Rotberg as Senior Fellow to lead projects on African and global governance

CIGI appoints political scientist and global security expert David A. Welch as Senior Fellow

As Senior Fellow, David A. Welch will contribute to CIGI's Global Security Program with particular emphasis on Asia-Pacific security. He is also CIGI Chair of Global Security at the Balsillie School of International Affairs, Professor of Political Science at the University of Waterloo, as well as the founder of the Japan Futures Initiative.

Economist and former IMF historian James M. Boughton joins CIGI as Senior Fellow

James Boughton's CIGI research will focus on the evolution of Canada's role in international governance since the 1940s. More specifically, he will explore: Canada's role in the Bretton Woods system including the IMF and the Basel organizations, particularly the Financial Stability Board; and, Canada's role in the evolution of ad hoc leadership groups.
