Jorge Heine on The Dark Side of Globalization

Each week, the Inside the Issues podcast series will go in-depth with a different CIGI expert on the most challenging issues in global governance. Hosted by CIGI Chair David Welch, these candid and timely discussions are available on the CIGI YouTube channel and on iTunes video and audio.

In episode nine, CIGI Distinguished Fellow Jorge Heine talks about his recent co-edited book, The Dark Side of Globalization. Published by the UN University Press in cooperation with CIGI, the book asks how governments, international organizations and civil society can mute the baleful effects of globalization while maximizing the beneficial consequences.

From January to June 2011, CIGI Chair of Global Security of David Welch, hosted the first season of Inside the Issues - a weekly podcast series featuring CIGI's global governance experts. The resulting 22 episodes feature timely and candid discussions on issues related to the core areas of CIGI expertise: Global Economy, Environment and Energy, Global Security and Global Development.
