This September 2011 a week of celebrations will occur to mark the opening of the CIGI Campus, a 114,000-square-foot facility being built in uptown Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. Designed by KPMB Architects, the CIGI Campus will be home to a hub of research and academic instuitutions specializing in international affairs. Inhabitants include: CIGI itself, although the think tank will maintain its offices in the former Seagram Museum on the same property; the Balsillie School of International Affairs (BSIA) founded in 2007 in partnership among CIGI, the University of Waterloo and Wilfrid Laurier University; and a future international law program in a partnership being developed between CIGI and a pre-eminent Ontario law school.
