Research Director, Transformative Technologies and Governance

The Centre for International Governance Innovation (CIGI) is an independent, non-partisan think tank that influences policymakers to innovate through peer-reviewed research and credible analysis. Reporting to the President, the Research Director, Transformative Technologies and Governance oversees the strategic development and design of research programs, frameworks and projects relating to transformative technologies such as artificial intelligence, quantum, blockchain, green and outer space technologies and other emerging technologies that have the potential to significantly alter society or global order. The incumbent will play an integral role in the development and implementation of CIGI's strategic plan in collaboration with the senior management team, initiate and maintain key strategic and funding relationships with local, national, and international partners, actively contribute to CIGI's research activities and publications, and act as a facilitator and mentor for the Digital Policy Hub as well as CIGI staff and Fellows.

Your experience blends research excellence with public policy and/or private or corporate practice, making you a champion for quality public policy research and a thought leader in your field. You have a motivating and engaging people leadership style that fosters creativity and innovation, as well as a high level of integrity and emotional intelligence. You are a skilled communicator and presenter with the stature and presence to be a credible and collaborative partner at the leadership table, as well as a respected voice and representative across the organization who can contribute to CIGI’s positioning as one of the world’s premier policy influencing organizations.
