The CIGI Campus Library maintains print and digital collections for CIGI staff and researchers, as well as faculty and students of the Balsillie School of International Affairs.
The John Holmes Collection, housed within the CIGI Campus Library, began as the institutional library of the Canadian Institute of International Affairs (CIIA) in 1928. Its namesake, Canadian diplomat, teacher, administrator and scholar John Wendell Holmes, was instrumental in developing it into an unmatched specialized collection on Canadian foreign policy. The collection moved to CIGI in 2007, where it is now available for use by CIGI staff and faculty and students of the Balsillie School of International Affairs.
The collection holds more than 7,000 monograph items, including a large number of rare newsletters and pamphlets dating back to the early years of its establishment. New publications on Canadian foreign policy, global economy, global security, international law, energy and environment and global development are added regularly.
The CIGI Campus Library also subscribes to a number of international relations periodicals.
