CIGI's International Law Research Program (ILRP) will be attending the 28th Annual Indigenous Bar Association (IBA) Fall Conference and participating in two panel discussions.
Sheila Watt-Cloutier, Author, The Right to Be Cold will be the IBA keynote speaker. In a talk sponsored by CIGI, Sheila will be putting a human rights face on climate change and the impacts of warming temperatures on the Inuit in northern Canada and the Arctic.
CIGI Senior Research Fellow Risa Schwartz will be speaking along with CIGI Research Associate Claire Anderson on a panel exploring realizing indigenous rights in international environmental law. Tha main plenary entitled "Our Relationship with Nation to Nation" will also feature Risa and Claire as panelists.
