Dr. Amitendu Palit is visiting fellow with ICRIER, and was previously deputy economic adviser in the Indian Ministry of Finance, responsible for policies relating to India's balance of payments, foreign exchange reserves and private capital flows.
He holds a PhD in Economics from the School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. His main research interests are macroeconomic policies, FDI, global value chains, small enterprises and labour market outcomes.
Dr. Palit figures on technical advisory committees set up by the Planning Commission on Inflow of Foreign Savings for the 11th FYP and by the International Labour Organisation on Growth of Micro and Small Enterprises. He writes extensively for newspapers and appears regularly as expert on the radio and television.
