Gurpreet Mahajan is a professor at the Centre for Political Studies, School of Social Sciences, Jawaharlal Nehru University, India.
She has written extensively on issues relating to minorities and democratic theory. Her publications include Identities and Rights: Aspects of Liberal Democracy in India (Oxford University Press, 1998), The Multicultural Path: Issues of Diversity and Discrimination in a Democracy (Sage, 2002), Democracy, Difference and Social Justice (ed.) (Oxford University Press, 1998), and The Public and the Private: Issues of Democratic Citizenship (ed.) (Sage, 2003).
