Hayley Avery is the manager of strategic initiatives and special projects at CIGI. In her role as manager, Hayley contributes to the strategic direction of programs at CIGI by assisting in the design and implementation of key initiatives and management of projects. 

Prior to joining CIGI in 2012, Hayley worked for CARE Canada where she managed humanitarian assistance and emergency response projects focused mainly in Africa. Hayley has previously worked for a Member of Parliament who was also the official opposition critic for International Development in Ottawa, as well as a Member of Provincial Parliament.

Hayley earned a B.A. in political science and psychology from Western University and an M.A. in human security and peacebuilding from Royal Roads University. She also obtained a graduate certificate in international development from the University of British Columbia.
