Lori-Anne Théroux-Bénoni is a researcher for the Network on Peace Operations at the University of Montreal, where she has been working on different peace and security issues relating to the United Nations, the African Union and La Francophonie. 

She holds a Ph.D. in anthropology from the University of Toronto in Canada. Written after extensive field research between 2003 and 2008, her thesis focused on media, conflict and democratization in Côte d’Ivoire. She also served as an electoral observer during the 2010 presidential elections and the 2011 legislative elections in Côte d’Ivoire.
