Marc Lalonde

Bio

Marc Lalonde is a lawyer and former federal politician. He was a Liberal member of Parliament from 1972 to 1984 and held various Cabinet postings during that time, including minister of justice; minister of energy, mines and resources; and minister of finance. In the 1990s, he served as an ad hoc judge at the International Court of Justice and has also represented Canada in various trade disputes. He has served as arbitrator, mediator and expert determiner in more than 125 international investment and commercial cases. He is an Officer of the Order of Canada.
