Mike Andrade believes that the world’s energy system is going through a technology disruption. With more than 30 years of technology experience with IBM and as a founding member of Celestica, he has seen many of these events. He is passionate about ensuring that Canada effectively deals with this transition and avoids the fate of companies such as Nortel and BlackBerry in previous technology disruptions. As such, he is active both as an investor and adviser in the Canadian clean technology ecosystem.
Mike is CEO of Morgan Solar, an investor and adviser to multiple other companies, a member of the Canadian Council of Innovators, board member of the Next Generation Manufacturing Supercluster and a member of the Clean Tech Economic Strategy Table. He was recognized for these efforts in October as a member of Canada’s 2020 Clean16.
Mike is a member of the Professional Engineers of Ontario. He holds an M.B.A. (night school) from York University and a bachelor of engineering science degree from Western University, where he was also the 2015 Lauchland Alumni Award winner.
