CIGI follows the rise of China on the global economic stage, the intersection of human rights and business and examines issues of relevancy and reform of investor-state arbitration. CIGI research considers how economic fora can contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through greater inclusiveness, transparency and interagency collaboration.

Ton Zuijdwijk is a senior fellow with CIGI’s International Law Research Program. The focus of his research is on international trade law, particularly as it relates to intellectual property. He also follows closely the repercussions of the withdrawal of the United Kingdom from the European Union, for Europe and for the Canada-UK relationship in the post-Brexit era.
