Thomas A. Bernes is a CIGI Distinguished Fellow. After a distinguished career in the Canadian public service and at leading international economic institutions, Tom was CIGI’s executive director from 2009 to 2012. He has held high-level positions at the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank and the Government of Canada. He became a distinguished fellow in 2012.
Senior Fellow Dan Ciuriak joined CIGI’s Global Economy Program in April 2016, focusing on the innovation and trade research theme. At CIGI, Dan is exploring the interface between Canada’s domestic innovation and international trade and investment, including the development of better metrics to assess the impact of Canada’s trade agreements on innovation outcomes. Based in Ottawa, Dan is the director and principal of Ciuriak Consulting, Inc.
Bernard Colas is a senior fellow with CIGI’s International Law Research Program (ILRP), effective August 2016. He is also a partner at CMKZ — Colas Moreira Kazandjian Zikovsky, an international trade and business law firm based in Montreal.
Dieter Ernst is a senior fellow at the Centre for International Governance Innovation (CIGI), focusing on unresolved challenges for the global governance of trade, intellectual property and innovation.
Markus Gehring is a senior fellow with CIGI’s International Law Research Program (ILRP) focusing on international economic law, trade and climate change, as well as trade, investment and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). He is also the Arthur Watts Senior Research Fellow in Public International Law with the British Institute of International and Comparative Law and a fellow of the Lauterpacht Centre for International Law at the University of Cambridge.
Patricia Goff is a CIGI Senior Fellow. She is also an associate professor of political science at Wilfrid Laurier University and the Balsillie School of International Affairs. She specializes in international political economy, with a particular interest in trade, intellectual property, and the cultural capacity of international organizations. At CIGI, Patricia’s research will focus on global, plurilateral and regional trade arrangements.
R. Andreas Kraemer is a senior fellow within CIGI’s Global Economy program. Andreas has informed key think-tanks, policy institutes and regulatory bodies on natural resource, climate and energy policy.
Patrick Leblond is a CIGI senior fellow with the Global Economy Program. He is an expert in global economic governance and international political economy, regional economic integration, financial regulation, and business and public policy. At CIGI, Patrick specializes in the investigation of international trade in the areas of the Canada-European Union Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement and the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership.
Céline Lévesque is a senior fellow with CIGI’s International Law Research Program (ILRP), effective April 2016. She is also dean and full professor at the Faculty of Law, Civil Law Section, University of Ottawa, where her research focuses on international investment law.
