Africa Portal

The Africa Portal is an online resource that seeks to broaden the availability, accessibility and use of policy research on issues critical to the future of Africa. It is a collaborative project between the Centre for International Governance Innovation (CIGI) and the South African Institute of International Affairs.

Balsillie School of International Affairs

The Balsillie School of International Affairs is a unique three-way partnership among CIGI, Wilfrid Laurier University and the University of Waterloo. It is a model of innovation, fostering the highest quality of academic experience and affording faculty and students the opportunity to work with the expertise and resources available at a private think tank. 

The Canada-India Track 1.5 Dialogue

The Canada-India Track 1.5 Dialogue on Innovation, Growth and Prosperity is a three-year initiative between CIGI and Gateway House: Indian Council on Global Relations, to explore areas for closer cooperation. Experts, government officials and business leaders will convene annually to promote bilateral economic growth and innovation in today’s digital economy.

Forum on Information and Democracy

In November 2019, CIGI joined 10 other organizations to create the Forum on Information and Democracy, a new international entity led by Reporters Without Borders, to implement the International Partnership on Information and Democracy, an agreement signed by a coalition of 30 states on the margins of the UN General Assembly in 2018.

Institute for New Economic Thinking

Announced in January 2011, CIGI’s partnership with the Institute for New Economic Thinking is committed to broadening and accelerating the development of innovative thinking that will lead to insights and solutions for the great economic and governance challenges of the twenty-first century. 

The Lancet & Financial Times Commission on Governing Health Futures 2030

CIGI is proud to have joined The Lancet & Financial Times Commission on Governing Health Futures 2030: Growing Up in a Digital World. From October 2019 to December 2021, this commission will explore digital health, artificial intelligence and other frontier technologies focusing on the well-being of children and young people.
