On January 13, CIGI interviewed his Excellency Jawed Ludin, Afghanistan’s Ambassador to Canada at the Afghan Embassy in Ottawa. We asked him whether the electoral fraud threatened President Karzai’s legitimacy, how to best fight corruption, what to make of the Afghan Parliament’s rejection of Karzai’s cabinet choices, and his thoughts on the new counter-insurgency strategy, reconciliation with the Taliban, and Canada’s role in Afghanistan to 2011 and beyond.
