Any university that hopes to prosper over the long term must build its reputation on a foundation of academic freedom and integrity. Equally, it must meet the needs of the society that supports it.

Wilfrid Laurier University has thrived for more than 100 years precisely because of its unwavering commitment to these principles.

It is deeply troubling, therefore, to be targeted in the campaign of misinformation that is currently being waged by the Canadian Association of University Teachers.
