Prime Minister Justin Trudeau should wait until the spring of 2017 before approving a far-reaching trade deal with Pacific Rim countries, and hold public hearings to help gauge the impact on the Canadian economy.

"I think the most important thing policy-makers in Ottawa can do right now on the TPP is slow down," Clarke said during a panel discussion.
