Canadian Olympic Committee says Sochi will be safe for athletes

Recent threats and suicide bombings in Russia have heightened security concerns ahead of the Sochi Winter Olympic Games. But the Canadian Olympic Committee says it has been working with the RCMP to ensure the safety of its athletes, coaches and personnel.

“We rehearsed, we practiced…we are going to be prepared,” COC president Marcel Aubut told CTV News. And Canadian athletes believe the COC and Russian authorities are doing everything possible to keep them safe.

“Russia invested so much money,” Canadian freestyle skier Alexandre Bilodeau told CTV News. “They want to look good, and they will look good.”
