The Centre for International Governance Innovation — better known by its abbreviation CIGI — is a wonderful research institution. Now 10 years old, the centre is about to gain a higher profile after helping to construct a $66-million building beside its main office in downtown Waterloo at Caroline and Erb streets. CIGI, as well as the Balsillie School of International Affairs, will share the new facility. The federal and provincial governments also provided financial support for the new building.
