The African Initiative Congress on Climate Change, through Makerere University, is proud and grateful to be a recipient of funding support from a new research and capacity development program, Climate Change Adaptation in Africa (CCAA), mounted jointly by the International Development Research Centre (IDRC) and the Department for International Development (DFID) in the UK ( The Climate Change Adaptation in Africa program supports African countries in their efforts to adapt to the impacts of climate change. The program is run and executed in Africa by Africans and, to the extent possible, involving the whole of Africa. Following the recent call for applications, the CCAA program is providing financial assistance to twelve events to facilitate African attendance at relevant national, regional and international events. The African Initiative Congress on Climate Change was one of twelve events selected for support from a total of 106 applications received.
