China’s ambassador to Canada was in Waterloo last Thursday evening touting the importance of increased trade and better relations between the two countries.
Ambassador Zhang Junsai told the audience of the mutual benefits of closer economic ties, saying, “there is no going back to protectionism.”
With the United States and Europe still suffering from the global financial crisis and lacking the momentum necessary to move the global economy forward, he said now was the time for Canada and China to strengthen its economic bond.
