
Former foreign affairs minister John Manley has questioned the wisdom of assigning Conservative MP Peter MacKay both the foreign affairs and Atlantic Canada development portfolios.
"You need a full-time minister," Mr. Manley told Embassy after speaking at a defence and foreign affairs conference in Ottawa on Monday. "I know when I was foreign minister it was a fulltime job.
"A foreign minister should be visiting other countries," Mr. Manley added. "And I'm sure [Mr. MacKay] wants to be visiting other countries."
