Several former diplomats say they are surprised by recent allegations of misconduct by staff at Canada's mission in Copenhagen, but one analyst is saying news coverage on the matter is premature.

Foreign Minister John Baird has launched an investigation into allegations "supported by as many as 13 current and former locally engaged" staff at the Canadian Embassy in Denmark, according to an Aug. 24 report in the Ottawa Citizen.
