Gala Screening of Shake Hands with the Devil

Waterloo, Ontario The Centre for International Governance Innovation (CIGI) and Princess Twin Cinema are holding a VIP Reception followed by a Gala Screening of the acclaimed film "Shake Hands with the Devil," based on Lieutenant-General Roméo Dallaire's award-winning book . "Shake Hands with the Devil" is the story of a Canadian commander torn between his duty and his conscience when he finds himself eyewitness to hell on earth.

The VIP reception will be held on Monday, October 15 at 6:00 pm at the Princess Twin Cinema, 47 King Street N, Waterloo, on the lower floor. Following the reception, you are invited to stay for a gala screening of the movie at 7:00 pm ( complimentary passes will be provided for you at the reception).

CIGI Distinguished Fellow Ramesh Thakur, former UN assistant secretary-general will give a short talk on peacekeeping and Researcher Hany Besada will discuss CIGI's Fragile States research. Wordsworth Books will have copies of "Shake Hands with the Devil" and other books on Rwanda and Darfur available for purchase.
