The Inaugural Meeting of the International Board of Governors of CIGI

Waterloo, ON - The Board of Directors of the Centre for International Governance Innovation (CIGI) is pleased to host the Inaugural Meeting at the International Board of Governors at the CIGI's offices, the former Seagram Museum, Waterloo, Ontario, Canada.

The meeting is the first formal gathering of members of the International Board of Governors to take place in Canada . It will conduct discussions on world and Canadian perspectives of International Governance. Several announcements will be made:

  • A Partnership between the CIGI and the World Economic Forum to develop an index to measure global governance performance
  • Two Fulbright Scholars for the CIGI and the University of Waterloo

The Meeting and discussions will be attended by the Hon. Bill Graham, P.C., M.P., Minister of Foreign Affairs, and by the Hon. Paul Martin, P.C., M.P. (LaSall-Emard), and the distinguished members of the International Board of Governors of the CIGI.

The Centre for International Governance Innovation (CIGI) is an independent centre for scholarly research was established in July 2002, to research and address issues concerning the stability and security of the international economics and financial system. Part of the CIGI mandate is to provide analysis and practical policy advises on key international economic issues. The CIGI is committed to conduct discussions and research that will influence the development of new rules with respect to the world's economy. The CIGI is an innovative partnership between the private sector and Government of Canada.
