With climate change a hot topic of discussion these days, it's no surprise that the information age is producing its own brand of energy solutions; along with solar, wind and geothermal power, Internet technology has a role to play in the fight against energy consumption, advocates say.

The idea is that broadband technology can reduce energy costs and dependency and, consequently, make good by the environment - the subject of which will be discussed in depth at a one-day forum, the Intelligent Waterloo Conference, Oct. 25 at the Centre for International Governance Innovation in Waterloo.
