The dawning of a “Pacific Century” led by China requires Canadian political and business leaders to look East, not West, if they want to secure Canada’s future prosperity.

That is not to say that we must, should or could abandon our historical relationship/partnership with our southern neighbour. The realities of the emerging global order demand a rigorous new strategy to ensure that Canada is not left out from capitalizing on the opportunities fuelled by the consumption demands of Asia’s rapidly expanding middle class.
