With three Governor-General award-winning buildings surrounding it, the architects behind the Centre of International Governance Innovation Campus in Waterloo knew the challenge ahead of them — don’t be overshadowed by the other buildings’ accomplishments.

And KPMB architects, out of Toronto, delivered as they recently won a design excellence award from the Ontario Association of Architects, recognizing the best in architectural design and innovation for 2013. They’re also in the running for a people’s choice award, with the public having their say on the best project in time for the May awards.
