Think-tank gets new president

An Ottawa-based scholar is taking over the reins at a Waterloo think-tank that seeks to improve international governance.

Rohinton Medhora, 52, becomes president of the Centre for International Governance Innovation in May. He’s currently working at a federal Crown corporation that supports research to promote growth in developing countries.

His appointment was announced Friday by Jim Balsillie, the former BlackBerry chief who founded the centre.

Medhora is no stranger to CIGI, located at Erb and Caroline streets. Most recently he’s helped to guide the centre’s research as a member of its international board of governors.
