CIGI’s Director of the Global Economy Program Domenico Lombardi will act as Chairman of a CIGI hosted panel on ‘Financial Regulatory Shifts in the Global Financial System’ with Senior Fellows Miranda Xafa and Pierre Siklos as panelists. In addition, Brookings Senior Fellow Eswar Prasad will be a panelist.
CIGI Distinguished Fellow Barry Eichengreen will deliver a lecture on ‘Reflections on Secular Stagnation’ followed by a lecture by the Former Prime Minister of Italy, Mario Monti on ‘Relaunching the Single Market Strategy’.
Miranda Xafa is a CIGI senior fellow. She is also chief executive officer of EF Consulting, an Athens-based advisory firm focusing on euro-zone economic and financial issues. At CIGI, Miranda focuses on sovereign debt crises and drawing lessons from the Greek debt restructuring for future debt crises. From 2004 to 2009, she served as a member of the executive board of the IMF in Washington, DC.
Pierre Siklos is a CIGI senior fellow. His research interests include applied time series analysis and monetary policy, with a focus on inflation and financial markets. Pierre is a research associate at Australian National University’s Centre for Macroeconomic Analysis and a senior fellow at the Rimini Centre for Economic Analysis.
Barry Eichengreen is a non-resident CIGI Senior Fellow. He is the George C. Pardee and Helen N. Pardee Professor of Economics and Professor of Political Science at the University of California, Berkeley, where he has taught since 1987. He is also a research associate of the National Bureau of Economic Research (Cambridge, Massachusetts). At CIGI, his research will focus on the internationalization of the renminbi.
