Paul Frommer, creator of the Na’vi language for James Cameron’s Avatar, talks about how he developed the language and illustrates some of its key features—sounds, grammatical structure, and vocabulary. He also explains how he worked with the actors to help them master their Na’vi lines. Included is a brief language lesson along with a look at the Na’vi enthusiast community that has embraced the language and is helping Frommer develop it into a viable medium of communication here on earth.
