The objective of the symposium is to try to identify the kind of global governance system that BRICSAM countries see as best serving their interests, recognizing that their interest will not necessarily be identical to those of the G7/OECD countries. The symposium will address two broad questions: what is the role of BRICSAM countries in the global economic system, their strategies and impact (including investment, global supply chains, reallocation of production etc.) and if and how do the existing structures of trade and finance systems accommodate the rise of these new powers. The experts will also discuss the energy and environmental challenges arising from the rate of growth of the BRICSAM countries
