Ambassador Zhang will discuss his views on the history of the development of China-Canada relations in the past 42 years and China's desired trajectory of this important bilateral relationship. He will elaborate on his views to build more robust political, economic and social relations in a time of a profoundly changing international situation.
Ambassador Zhang has held many posts, most recently as the 2010- Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to Canada; 2007-2010 Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Commonwealth of Australia; 2003-2007 Deputy Director General, North American and Oceanian Affairs Dept, MFA; 2000-2003 Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of the Fiji Islands.
