As part of the Awards Night for the CIGI Community Art Contest, Shirley Madill (Executive Director, Kitchener-Waterloo Art Gallery) will give an address on the importance of art and its role in a vibrant and thriving community. Following this, awards will be given out to the winning artists. Guests are invited to view the winning art submissions and take part in a wine and cheese reception, following the Awards Ceremony.
Rohinton Medhora, CIGI President, will present the evening's awards, and City of Waterloo Councillor Mark Whaley will provide comments and thanks.
Rohinton P. Medhora is president of the Centre for International Governance Innovation (CIGI), joining in 2012. Previously, he was vice president of programs at Canada’s International Development Research Centre. He received his doctorate in economics in 1988 from the University of Toronto, where he subsequently taught. His fields of expertise are monetary and trade policy, international economic relations and development economics.
