CIGI and The Peace and Conflict Society is pleased to announce the second annual conference, entitled: Before the Crisis Breaks: Conflict Prevention, Crisis Management and Preventive Diplomacy in the 21st Century, which will take place February 2-4, 2007.

The Centre for International Goverance Innovation is a proud sponsor of this event.
Approaching its second year, students of the Peace and Conflict Society eagerly plan for their next annual academic conference. Entitled Before the Crisis Breaks, this year's conference will again build on the success of last year's interdisciplinary focus and interactive dialogue. Before the Crisis Breaks will analyze challenges of crisis prevention, specifically when in the escalatory process is preventive action most likely to succeed, who is best suited to take action, and how such preventive measures ought to be executed.

The Challenges of Peacebuilding: Reconstructing Shattered Societies, the Society's inaugural conference, proved to be a remarkable experience for undergraduate students eager to undertake academic analysis outside of the classroom. Approximately one hundred delegates connected with leading academics and practitioners. With the positive response and the unique experience the event fostered, this year's conference promises to be a success.
