Spinning off from CIGI's Worlds Apart conference series and as part of CIGI's ongoing activity focusing on the links between governance and diplomacy, this conference will explore the interface between the current dynamics of the international system and the domestic political agendas within the Americas. The diversity in the region's governments' political and economic agendas and the variety of effective multilateral mechanisms in the Americas will be highlighted.
A dynamic programme has been assembled which includes a mix of panels, keynote speakers and break-out sessions which will allow for engagement between leading international practitioners, academics and civil society representatives. An edited volume of selected conference papers is planned.
