CIGI and the Reset Initiative are pleased to host the Global Platform Governance Network (GPGN) Research and Development Group meeting on June 2, 2022, from 7 to 8 AM EDT (UTC-4).
In its initial working sessions in 2021, the group addressed the lack of national and international research planning, challenges around data access, coordinated funding and knowledge dissemination. As the group continues its work over the next year, its aim will be to continue efforts to:
- identify and align current government and foundation research and development efforts internationally;
- identify and address barriers to research, both for governments and the research community; and
- find ways to support, translate and disseminate emerging research to governments.
This first session will enable members to share recent developments and to contribute to a concrete, achievable work plan that the group will report back on at the end of the year. A draft work plan will be shared with the group ahead of the meeting.
