CIGI and the Reset Initiative are pleased to host the Global Platform Governance Network Research Working Group.

As discussed at our January launch, the goal of this group is to harmonize government research and knowledge dissemination efforts to avoid duplication and amplify our various national efforts. Working with the support of experts, the group will develop a long-term governmental research plan, including topics for future research, dissemination strategies and a map of international efforts.

At this first session of the working group, we will connect with the organizers of the Global Platform Governance Research Network conference to discuss future directions in platform governance research. The following session on May 25 will delve more deeply into barriers to research, as discussed at the working group launch in January. The final session (July 26) will focus on what government tools are available to support external research and knowledge dissemination. Based on the group’s work over the three sessions, our expert advisers will draft a preliminary research plan to share with the broader network at the special September network session to celebrate our one-year anniversary.
