The Globalization Studies Network (GSN) and the Centre for International Governance Innovation (CIGI) are pleased to invite participation in the fourth GSN Conference, to be held at CIGI on 25-27 August 2008.

The special theme of the fourth GSN conference is curbing the uncivil potentials of contemporary globalization. Today’s trends towards a more global world involve productive forces of “civil society” that can help to uplift millions from poverty, deprivation and degradation. At the same time, however, globalization can also unleash destructive forces of “uncivil society.” Some of the cross-cutting topics that the conference will speak to include:

  • Human Trafficking
  • Transnational Crime
  • Money Laundering
  • Terrorism
  • Arms Trafficking
  • Disease/Health Security
