My main current research interests are information technology and public policy. I am a co-investigator on a Multiple Collaborative Research Project on globalization, and my slice of it is an examination of the international regulatory framework for the internet domain name space. The project touches on regulatory issues, on the mobilization of global interest groups, and the role of governments in a very different international context. In the past, I've written on social policies of various types, and on Canadian politics and public policy. I retain my interest in public policy analysis. The courses I have taught at the school include a Ph.D. seminar on ideas, decision-making, and the internet and public policy. I also teach a second-year core course in Kroeger College. My teaching style has been variously described over the years as engaging, demanding, funny, warm, and incomprehensible.
