CIGI is proud to support Marit Collective on March 8, 2019, for Know Better, Do Better: An International Women’s Day Immersive Conference. This half-day conference will feature talks and breakout workshops covering topics such as diversity, intersectionality, allyship, systemic feminine devaluation and emotional labour. Focus Forward, the evening spotlight speaker event, will open with thoughts on identity and practical activism. A featured panel discussion entitled Measuring Up: The Value of Women in Leadership, moderated by Nicole Langlois with an introduction by Heather McNorgan, will bring together CIGI experts Bushra Ebadi, Maria Panezi, Ksenia Polonskaya and Joanna Wajda, as they look at the representation of women in global governance positions and questions around women in leadership. A second panel featuring Laura Mae Lindo, Fauzia Mazhar, and Samantha Estoesta will discuss the global rise of populism and the far right, its effects on gender equity issues, and the role of resistance and resilience. Your ticket to the afternoon conference includes free admission to the evening event (which takes place from 6:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.). Tickets for the evening event can also be purchased separately.
