In his talk Professor Paul Manners will share highlights (and lowlights) from his varied career as a teacher, television producer and ‘change agent’, and explore how these have shaped his work. His talk will examine the role universities and research in society – and how universities need to change if they are really going to ‘step up’ to the challenge of supporting everyone to have a learning life, and to produce research that genuinely enriches society.
