At the invitation of the Mexican presidency of the G20, a group of research institutions organized a "Think 20" meeting in Mexico City on February 27-28, 2012, hosted by the Mexican Council on Foreign Relations (COMEXI). The meeting provided ideas and recommendations from an international gathering of representatives of think tanks and research institutions to the Mexican G20 sherpa, Ambassador Lourdes Aranda. The meetings focused on the five priorities of the Mexican G20 presidency. On February 29, participants presented the findings of the Think20 consultations to a public audience.

A report of the outcome and conclusions of the “Think20” meeting and consultations was presented to G20 sherpas and senior ambassadors in March 2012 (attached below). Participants were asked to prepare briefing memos for the event (also attached below).

This work was carried out with the aid of a grant from the International Development Research Centre, Ottawa, Canada (IDRC).
