Digital transformations are well under way in all aspects of life, including health, resulting in significant and far-reaching changes. However, there are still significant gaps in our understanding of the relationship between digital technologies and health.
The Lancet and Financial Times Commission on Governing Health Futures 2030: Growing Up in a Digital World argues not only that digital transformation should be considered a key determinant of health, but also that the only way to ensure digital transformation has beneficial effects on health for all is by taking a precautionary, mission-oriented and value-based approach to its governance.
During this Lancet webinar, co-chairs Ilona Kickbusch and Anurag Agrawal will present the crucial recommendations of the commission. Andrew Jack, global education editor of the Financial Times, will chair a discussion with commissioners about how governance can shape digital transformations to bring about improvement in health for all. There will be a Q&A session with the presenters, followed by closing remarks from Naomi Lee, senior executive editor at the Lancet.
