About the speaker: Capt(N) Elizabeth Steele has a B.Sc. from Dalhousie University in Halifax (1985) and is a graduate of the French Immersion programme at l'Université Sainte-Anne in Pointe de l'Eglise. Having served in the Naval Reserves for three years, she transferred to the Regular Force in 1986 and completed her shore-based Sea Logistics training in 1988, with specialties in Supply and Finance. Capt(N) Steele served as ship's Assistant Supply Officer and Supply Officer (SYO) in HMCS CORMORANT, and SYO in HMCS IROQUOIS. She has served in various capacities in Maritime Command (MARCOM) units ashore: CFB Halifax Public Funds Accounting Officer and Non-Public Funds Accounting Officer; MARCOM HQ Financial Policy Staff Officer and Senior Staff Officer Capability Planning; and, MARLANT HQ as Formation Comptroller. Capt(N) Steele is a graduate of the Canadian Forces Command and Staff College in Toronto. She has a M.Sc. in National Resource Strategy with a core qualification in Supply Chain Management from the Industrial College of the Armed Forces, National Defence University, in Washington DC (2007). Capt(N) Steele’s most recent tour was as the Maritime Staff Comptroller.
